Raccoons - clever, handy, notorious for their love of garbage.
This piece is thrown on the wheel from white stoneware, then dipped in black slip which gives a layered, atmospheric quality to its color. I carve the image by hand, and added gold luster features to enhance the movement of the slip on the piece.
Approximately 5” wide. This plate could be wired to hang on the wall, used as a catch-all for jewelry, or as a plate for a decadent snack. (Make the raccoon proud!)
