The toad nestles in the underbrush, concealing himself, cleverly, waiting to go unnoticed. Toads are famously lucky, a symbol of self-reliance - when we are inward-facing, as the toad disguised among dirt and leaves, we find a sense of inner strength.
This series is a limited run. I brush a pale yellow slip over a dark-bodied clay, then carve into each piece by hand. I will not be recreating this particular color combination, and there are under fifteen pieces in this collection.
The cup is dishwasher and microwave safe, and holds 8 fl ounces.
