Heron is thrown on the wheel from white stoneware, then dipped in black slip which gives a layered, atmospheric quality to its color. I carve the image by hand and adorn this unique composition with luster components.

The slip on this piece is very subtly variegated, providing exquisite texture. I consider these markings and imperfections as in accordance with the design and visual harmony of the piece.

This mug holds 8-10 fl ounces.

Please note, luster is not microwave safe. Hand wash or wash occasionally in the top rack of the dishwasher to preserve the luster finish.
