The cougar is a graceful, powerful hunter highly attuned to its surroundings. The back of the mug features an abstracted background which emulates the snowy landscape.

Cougar is thrown on the wheel from white stoneware, then dipped in black slip which gives a layered, atmospheric quality to its color. I carve the image by hand and adorn this unique composition with luster components.

The slip on this piece is very subtly variegated, providing exquisite texture. I consider these markings and imperfections as in accordance with the design and visual harmony of the piece.

This mug holds 8 fl ounces.

Please note, luster is not microwave safe. Hand wash or wash occasionally in the top rack of the dishwasher to preserve the luster finish.
