Raccoons - clever, handy, notorious for their love of garbage. They are simply adorable.
This piece is thrown on the wheel from white stoneware, then dipped in black slip which gives a layered, atmospheric quality to its color. I carve the image by hand, and added gold luster features to enhance the movement of the slip on the piece.
Approximately 4” wide. -this plate could be wired to hang on the wall, used as a catch-all for jewelry, or maybe as a plate for a very decadent snack. (Make the raccoon proud!)
