Opossums are the only marsupial native to the Americas, and absolutely full of personality. They’re nocturnal and extremely curious, and I don’t know if you’ve ever seen one waddling away from you but they’re very cute.
Possum is thrown on the wheel from white stoneware, then dipped in black slip which gives a layered, atmospheric quality to its color. I carve the image by hand and adorn this unique composition with luster components.
The slip on this piece is very subtly variegated, providing exquisite texture. I consider these markings and imperfections as in accordance with the design and visual harmony of the piece.
This piece holds 8-10 fl ounces, please take a close look at the pictures to get a good look at the glaze.
